Quick Air Fryer Cottage Cheese Tots

These Two Ingredient Cottage Cheese Tots are a crispy, delicious snack that’s incredibly easy to make. Packed with protein and perfect for any time of day, they’re sure to satisfy your cravings!

Ingredients

  • Cottage Cheese
  • Grated Potatoes or Grated Cauliflower or Grated Sweet Potatoes
  • Salt (optional)
  • Pepper (optional)
  • Garlic Powder (optional)
  • Onion Powder (optional)
  • Almond Flour or Breadcrumbs (optional for binding)

Instructions

  1. Start by grating your starchy vegetable of choice. If using potatoes, I usually use a box grater to get fine shreds. If you're using cauliflower, make sure to process it finely.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the grated vegetable with cottage cheese. I like to add a pinch of salt and pepper for flavor, but feel free to customize with garlic powder, onion powder, or your favorite spices.
  3. Using your hands, scoop out small amounts of the mixture and shape them into bite-sized tots. I usually make them about the size of a golf ball and then slightly flatten them for even cooking.
  4. While you're forming the tots, preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes. This helps achieve that perfect crispy exterior.
  5. Place the formed tots in a single layer in the air fryer basket, making sure they’re not touching. Depending on your air fryer size, you may need to do this in batches. Cook for about 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until they are golden and crispy.
  6. Once done, let them cool slightly before serving. They’re delicious on their own or paired with your favorite dipping sauce!

Keywords: Make sure the mixture is not too wet. If it feels too wet, add a bit of almond flour or breadcrumbs to help bind it together. Feel free to mix in ingredients like chopped herbs, shredded cheese, or even cooked bacon bits for extra flavor.
