Ingredients

Scale
  • 200g unsalted butter
  • 150g granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 300g all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 50g unsweetened cocoa powder
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. In a mixing bowl, cream together 200g of softened unsalted butter and 150g of granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in 2 large eggs one at a time, followed by 1 teaspoon of pure vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together 300g of all-purpose flour, 2 teaspoons of baking powder, and a pinch of salt.
  6. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  7. Split the dough into two equal portions. In one half, mix in 50g of unsweetened cocoa powder until fully incorporated.
  8. Take small spoonfuls of each dough and place them randomly on the prepared baking sheet. Use a toothpick or knife to swirl the two doughs together to create a marbled effect.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are slightly golden.
  10. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
