Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon non-alcoholic gin extract
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 splash of milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
  2. In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the butter. Once melted, remove from heat and stir in the granulated sugar until well combined.
  3. Allow the mixture to cool slightly, then stir in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Finally, add the non-alcoholic gin extract and mix until fully incorporated.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the cocoa powder, flour, ground ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix, as this can affect the texture.
  6. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan, smoothing it out evenly with a spatula.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  8. Remove from the oven and allow the brownies to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. While the brownies are cooling, prepare the frosting. In a bowl, mix the softened butter with powdered sugar and a splash of milk until creamy. You can also add a dash of non-alcoholic gin extract for extra flavor.
  10. Once the brownies are completely cool, spread the frosting generously over the top. Feel free to sprinkle some ground ginger or festive sprinkles for a decorative touch!
  11. Cut the brownies into squares and enjoy your delicious Frosted Gingerbread Brownies!
