Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1.5 cups granulated sugar
  • 1.5 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1.5 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1.5 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 0.5 cups granulated sugar (for cinnamon sugar mixture)
  • 2 tablespoons cinnamon (for cinnamon sugar mixture)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease two 9×5 inch loaf pans with oil or butter, and dust them lightly with flour if desired.
  3. In a large bowl, combine 3 cups of all-purpose flour, 1.5 cups of granulated sugar, 1.5 teaspoons of baking powder, 1.5 teaspoons of baking soda, and 1.5 teaspoons of ground cinnamon. Stir well to ensure even distribution.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together 2 large eggs, 1 cup of milk, and 1 cup of vegetable oil until well mixed.
  5. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; a few lumps are perfectly fine!
  6. In a small bowl, mix 0.5 cups of granulated sugar with 2 tablespoons of cinnamon. Set aside.
  7. Pour half of the batter into each prepared loaf pan. Sprinkle a generous layer of the cinnamon sugar mixture over the batter in both pans. Pour the remaining batter on top and then repeat with more cinnamon sugar.
  8. Using a knife or skewer, gently swirl the batter to create a marbled effect. Don’t overdo it, as you want to see the cinnamon layers!
  9. Place the pans in the preheated oven and bake for 45-55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  10. Once baked, remove the bread from the oven and let it cool in the pans for about 10 minutes. Then, transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Keywords: Allowing the bread to cool completely helps the flavors develop and makes slicing easier. Feel free to add nuts, raisins, or even chocolate chips to the batter for a fun twist. This bread freezes well, so consider making a double batch to share.
