Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 cup of brown sugar, 2 teaspoons of baking powder, and 1 tablespoon of ground cinnamon until well combined.
  3. In another bowl, melt 1/2 cup of unsalted butter. Allow it to cool slightly, then whisk in 2 eggs, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, and 1/2 cup of milk until smooth.
  4. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; a few lumps are okay!
  5. In a small bowl, mix 1/4 cup of brown sugar and 1 tablespoon of cinnamon together to create your cinnamon swirl.
  6. Pour half of the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly. Sprinkle half of the cinnamon-sugar mixture over the batter.
  7. Carefully spoon the remaining batter over the cinnamon layer, smoothing it out gently. Top with the remaining cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Allow it to cool in the pan for 10 minutes.
  9. While the bars cool, whisk together 1 cup of powdered sugar with 2-3 tablespoons of milk until smooth. Adjust the consistency with more milk or sugar as needed.
