  • 1 block full-fat cream cheese (softened)
  • Powdered sugar (to taste)
  • Cold milk (splash, any type)
  • Pure vanilla extract
  • Peppermint extract (to taste)

  • Crushed candy canes
  • Christmas sprinkles (red, green, silver)
  • Mini chocolate chips (especially red and green ones)
  • Festive M&M's
  • Drizzle of white chocolate (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Crust: In a medium bowl, combine your finely crushed sugar cookies (and gingersnaps, if using) with the melted butter. Mix these thoroughly until the crumbs are evenly moistened. Press this mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 15-20 minutes.
  2. Craft the Cream Cheese Layer: In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with an electric mixer until smooth. Gradually add the powdered sugar, continuing to beat until well combined. Pour in the milk, vanilla extract, and peppermint extract, and beat on medium speed for another 1-2 minutes.
  3. Spread the Cream Cheese Layer: Retrieve your chilled cookie crust and gently spread the cream cheese mixture over it. Return the dish to the refrigerator for another 15-20 minutes.
  4. Mix the Pudding Layer: In a separate bowl, whisk together the two packages of instant vanilla pudding mix with the cold milk for about 2-3 minutes until thickened.
  5. Add the Pudding Layer: Spoon the thickened pudding mixture over the cream cheese layer and spread it out evenly. Return to the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
  6. Top with Whipped Topping & Decorate: Spread the thawed whipped topping evenly over the pudding layer and decorate with crushed candy canes, sprinkles, mini chocolate chips, or other festive decorations.
  7. Chill Thoroughly: Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for a minimum of 4 hours, preferably overnight.
  8. Serve and Enjoy: Cut into squares with a sharp knife and serve cold.
