Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can Refrigerated Crescent Roll Dough
  • 23 Apples (Honeycrisp, Granny Smith, Fuji, or Gala), diced
  • 2 tablespoons Granulated Sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Brown Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon Nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon Cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup Caramel Sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Melted Butter
  • 1/4 cup Cinnamon Sugar Coating (granulated sugar mixed with ground cinnamon)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine your diced apples, granulated sugar, brown sugar, ground cinnamon, nutmeg, and cornstarch. Toss everything together until the apples are evenly coated.
  3. Carefully unroll one can of crescent roll dough onto your prepared baking sheet or a clean work surface. Separate the dough into individual triangles.
  4. Place about 1 tablespoon of the apple filling onto the wider end of each crescent roll triangle. Spoon about 1/2 teaspoon of caramel sauce directly over the apple filling.
  5. Starting from the wide end, carefully roll up each triangle towards the pointed end, enclosing the filling. Pinch the edges and seams tightly to seal the filling inside.
  6. In a small, shallow bowl, melt your butter. In another small bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon for the coating.
  7. One by one, dip each assembled apple pie bomb into the melted butter, ensuring it's fully coated. Then, transfer it to the cinnamon sugar mixture and roll it around until evenly coated.
  8. Place the coated bombs seam-side down on your prepared baking sheet, leaving a little space between each one.
  9. Bake for 12-16 minutes, or until the bombs are golden brown, puffed up, and the filling is bubbly.
  10. Once baked, carefully remove the baking sheet from the oven. Let the apple pie bombs cool on the baking sheet for 5-10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.

Keywords: Don't overfill the bombs to avoid leaks. Choose firm, tart-sweet apples for the best flavor. For an extra touch, drizzle warm caramel sauce over the baked bombs before serving.
