Sour Cream Beef Noodle Casserole is a warm and hearty dish that combines ground beef, tender noodles, and a creamy sour cream sauce. It’s perfect for a family dinner and leaves delicious leftovers for the next day.

Ingredients

  • Wide Egg Noodles
  • Lean Ground Beef
  • Sour Cream
  • Chopped Onion
  • Sharp Cheddar Cheese
  • Beef Broth
  • Garlic Powder
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Paprika

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the egg noodles and cook according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef and chopped onions. Cook until the beef is browned, breaking it apart with a spatula. Drain any excess fat.
  4. Stir in the garlic powder, salt, pepper, and paprika. Pour in the beef broth, and let it simmer for about 5 minutes to absorb the flavors.
  5. Remove the skillet from heat and mix in the sour cream until well combined.
  6. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked noodles and the beef mixture. Stir in half of the cheddar cheese, mixing until everything is evenly coated.
  7. Transfer the noodle and beef mixture into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish, spreading it evenly. Top with the remaining cheddar cheese.
  8. Place the casserole in the preheated oven and bake for about 25-30 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  9. Once baked, let the casserole cool for a few minutes before serving.
